Edward “Tactical” Ra’s smile turned to reflection in a flash. He fought back tears, as he recounted his journey after Cloud9 Kia's 3-1 upset of top-seeded LYON in the LCS Upper Bracket Playoffs.
The win didn’t just send Cloud9 to their first international event in three years, snapping months of heartbreak. It validated Ra’s journey back to Tier 1.
“It’s been an insane journey,” Ra said, staring up at the ceiling for moments to collect himself. “Sorry, I’m getting a little emotional.”
The last time Ra played on an international stage was at the World Championships in 2021, when he was a part of Team Liquid. The team went 3-3.
