ALLEN, Texas – Worlds Season is off and running. Who’s looking good? Who’s heading in the wrong direction. The Load-In writers Paul Delos Santos and Lauren “Misa” Sanchez have the first day of Swiss locked and recapped.

Honor Roll: CTBC Flying Oyster

The LCP has always been a severely underestimated region, especially at Worlds.

CFO looked to continue 2025’s legacy and opened their road to bigger things after the first day.

Their 1-0 victory against Team Liquid Alienware propelled forward to the 1-0 pool, and they look to keep that momentum going throughout Swiss with a Day 2 match against Movistar KOI. – Misa

Honor Roll: T1

It’s business as usual for the three-time defending champions. They opened their defense with a dominating win against CBLOL side LOS.

Honor Roll: LYON

LYON roared back after a rocky end to their summer split with a convincing victory over the LCP top-seed, Team Secret Whales.

Bottom laner Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol tallied up 13 kills, falling one short of his yearly-high 14. Jungler Kacper “Inspired” Słoma finished with two kills and 11 assists.

The team looks to continue its march toward the knockout stage, drawing Karmine Corp on Day 2. – Paul

STOCK UP: Movistar KOI

MKOI provided the first shock of the first day of Swiss, stunning Bilibili Gaming.

Mid-laner and North America’s prodigal son Joseph “jojopyun” Pyun racked up nine kills and four assists. Bottom laner David “Supa” Martínez García lived up to the title of damage carry, dealing out a match best 42.7K damage (1,104 damage/minute).

“No one expected this at all,” content creator Basil said. - Paul

STOCK UP: Karmine Corp.

Karmine Corp has yet to disappoint Worlds.

They ignited hope for their loyal fanbase and the West as they take down LPL top seed Anyone's Legend to move themselves into the 1-0 pool of Swiss stage.

TLAW Day 1

STOCK DOWN: Team Liquid Alienware

As the first seed from the LCS and with Worlds in North America, expectations were high for TLAW.

However, a surprise loss to CFO has tanked the morale of LCS fans as they start Swiss 0-1 and will face BLG with the loser facing best-of-3s for the rest of the tournament.

“This was, to me, the best team in the West after summer,” DPM.lol writer Ethan Cohen said. “Seeing them losing to the second seed of LCP is really bad and weird.

“When you lose to CFO first day, it can bring back the whole demon that you’re not that actually not that good.” – Misa

STOCK DOWN: BLG

BLG has shown pure domination year-round at internationals with their win at First Stand and their 2nd place finish at MSI. However, they're off to a rocky start along with the rest of the LPL as their loss to MKOI knocks them down to the 0-1 pool and capped off a historic 0-4 day for the LPL after the first day of Swiss.

“People have really high expectations for BLG every single year, all the time,” Basil said. “MKOI has been looking rough, even though they looked better at the end of Split Three, so BLG basically getting completely fisted is not a good look.” – Misa
